YSC Rules Summary
Round 1
- A 60-second timer will be set.
- Contestants begin with one basketball in hand and both feet behind the designated starting cone.
- Contestants will start on whistle and will proceed to dribble from the start line to:
- ZIG-ZAG DRIBBLE Using the ball in-hand zig-zag dribble through the placed cones.
- SPEED DRIBBLE Using the ball in-hand the Contestant will dribble from the designated spot to the cross-court designated cone.
- SHOOT, REBOUND, AND SCORE Using the ball in-hand the Contestant must attempt to make as many shots as possible in the remaining time from the designated shooting spots of various values. The Contestant must rebound all of his/her own balls.
- 6 point: Corner zone
- 4 point: Top of key zone
- 3 point: Elbow zone
- 1 point: Lane zone
- FREE THROW After the 60-second time expires, the contestant must attempt to make one (1) free throw shot for an additional 1 point.
- The top 3 scorers in each division will advance to the final round.
Round 2
- The second round will follow the exact same format with final scores determining place.
Tie Breaker
- Bonus free throw shot made
- Highest number of 6 point shots made
- Highest number of 4 point shots made
- Highest number of 3 point shots made
- Highest number of 1 point shots
- Lowest number of violations
